Auto Accidents

The moment you are in a car accident, the other driver's insurance company starts building a case against you. Their adjuster sounds friendly on the phone — but their job is to close your claim as cheaply as possible. They are not on your side.

At Thornburgh Law, from the moment we agree to represent you, you will no longer have to deal with any insurance adjuster regarding your injuries. We handle all of that. You focus on getting better — we focus on getting you what you deserve.

Our Services:

  • Guiding clients through the full insurance claims process
  • Handling all communications with insurance adjusters
  • Negotiating fair settlements that reflect the full scope of damages
  • Litigation preparation and trial representation
  • Representing victims of car, truck, and motorcycle accidents
  • Uninsured and underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) claims

Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question not listed here? Contact us directly at carrie@thornburghlaw.com.

Call 911. Seek medical attention even if you feel fine — some injuries appear hours or days later and delayed care weakens your claim. Document everything: photos of all vehicles, the scene, visible injuries. Collect insurance and contact information from all drivers. Call an attorney before speaking with the other driver's insurance company.

Three years from the date of the accident for personal injury claims and property damage. Do not wait — evidence deteriorates, witnesses become unavailable, and the longer you wait the more ammunition the insurance company has to argue your injuries weren't serious.

It means the driver who caused the accident is financially responsible for resulting injuries and property damage. You file a claim against their insurance company and potentially sue them personally if their coverage is inadequate.

With 15% of Colorado drivers uninsured, this is a real risk. Your own uninsured/underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) coverage can step in to cover your damages. We strongly recommend all Colorado drivers carry robust UM/UIM coverage.

Not before speaking with an attorney. You are not legally required to give a recorded statement to the other driver's insurer. Their adjuster's job is to minimize what they pay. Anything you say can be used to shift blame onto you under Colorado's comparative negligence rules.
